Training - Accreditation

The Society for Vascular Technology is the national scientific and educational society for those practicing Vascular Technology in Great Britain and Ireland. Members can undertake the SVT’s formal Accreditation Programme to become ‘Accredited Vascular Scientists’ (AVS). The Accreditation process consists of written and practical examinations, followed by a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) scheme, mandatory for maintaining accredited status.

A comprehensive guide for potential candidates is provided in the following document, including:- an explanation of Basic and Full Accreditation, Entry Requirements, Theoretical and Practical Examination information and subsequent accruing of CPD points.

Syllabi relating to the Physics and Vascular Technology Theory Exams respectively are detailed below:

If you wish to apply for Basic Accreditation, you are required to complete the application form below:

If you wish to apply for Full Accreditation, please complete the application form below:

Once you have successfully completed both Theory examinations, you can apply for the Practical Exam using the form below:

In order to help with revising for the Accreditation Exams, SVT additionally run a two day Revision course to help go through the syllabus with prospective candidates.
