6. SoR Transfer of Public Voluntary Register of Sonographers to the Register of Clinical Technologists

Dear Voluntary Registrant

Re: Transfer of Public Voluntary Register of Sonographers to the Register of Clinical Technologists

The Society and  College of Radiographers (SCoR) and the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) are pleased to confirm that following Professional Standards Authority (PSA) approval the Public Voluntary Register of Sonographers (PVRS) will transfer to the Register of Clinical Technologists when the current biennial PVRS registration cycle ends.

Sonographers will be a separate professional group within the RCT register alongside the existing medical physics and medical engineering groups.

It will be an individual sonographer’s decision as to whether they wish to transfer from the PVRS to the RCT.

Please be advised that the transfer window is now expected to open on February 1st. The window will remain open as planned until 30th April 2021 although early application to transfer is recommended. Please see previous e-mails. We will send details of how to access the short transfer form and other information you will need to complete the transfer when the transfer window opens. As previously advised FAQs are available at https://www.sor.org/news/transfer-public-voluntary-register-sonographers-professional-standards-authority-accredited-register-clinical
