The Liverpool Vascular and Endovascular Service (LiVES) is looking for two experienced Clinical Vascular Scientists/Vascular Sonographers to join us in Liverpool. Currently awaiting refurbishment of a vascular laboratory module on the Aintree site, which will serve the new ‘vascular hub’ and an imminent move to a brand new hospital on the Royal Liverpool site, the service is undergoing a complete makeover. To be considered for appointment at Band 7, applicants should be accredited with the Society of Vascular Technology and/or have a PG Dip in Ultrasound with demonstrable vascular experience. We are happy to consider applicants with less experience, who are currently working towards SVT accreditation or have recently completed/pending completion of the STP training programme, but appointment in this case may be at a lower banding. This will be reviewed on an individual basis. The vascular laboratory presently consists of 7 accredited clinical scientists across the network, supported by a team of Vascular Specialist Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers and administrative staff. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, an excellent team player and committed to the delivery of high quality patient care. We have five ultrasound machines between the sites. (1 Philips EPIQ 5, 4x GE Logiq 10s) and other portable equipment which allow us to perform out a wide range of vascular investigations including carotid, aorta, upper and lower limb arterial and venous assessments, graft surveillance, imaging of endovascular aneurysm repair including contrast enhanced ultrasound. We also have close links to the AAA screening programme for Cheshire and Merseyside, providing training and support as clinical skills trainers and CAVA accredited assessors for the screening technicians progressing through their healthcare screening diploma. We also support trainees through the vascular rotation of the STP with the expectation of supporting our own vascular STP trainee in the next academic year.
