King’s College Hospital London is seeking Clinical Vascular Scientists

If you are a qualified or nearly qualified vascular scientist, then we’d like to hear from you!

We have roles for both band 7 and band 8a vascular ultrasound specialists with opportunities for full or part time working. There is a recruitment and retention premium of £5000 per year and full high cost area supplement for both grades.

The department is based in the heart of a busy London teaching hospital. So there is scope to extend your practice into new areas with a chance to see a wide range of interesting cases. For example, we can provide additional training in areas such as renal artery duplex scanning and transcranial Doppler for children with sickle cell disease among others.

You could find yourself working with a suite of top of the range GE Logiq E10 ultrasound scanners in all air conditioned rooms as well as being one of the first to use the new Philips 5500CV portable system which is due for delivery very soon!

All of the team are encouraged to get involved with activities outside of direct patient care and are provided with time to do this during the working week. This might include: research, audit projects, teaching and training of junior staff and/or other health professionals and further personal/professional development such as observations in clinics operating theatres (and more).

For full details of the job descriptions and person specifications, as as well to find out how to apply please see the NHS jobs website by clicking the links below:

If you are interested or would like to know more, don’t hesitate to give us a ring to discuss the roles. You can also arrange an informal visit to the department to check it out for yourself. Trains into London Victoria take just 11 minutes from Denmark Hill station, so you could always go to see a show in the west end afterwards.
