CPD Activity

REMINDER: Update your CPD profile by the end of the membership year (31st of August 2023)

CPD is an important part of maintaining your AVS accreditation. Accredited members of the SVT are required to maintain a rolling average of 30 points over any 3-year membership period. Membership years run from the 1st of September to the 31st of August each year.

The Education Committee recommend aiming to accrue approximately 10 points per year. We understand that many of you may only be able to attend a conference once every few years, which is why we now ask for 30 points over any 3-year period.

Each year the CPD team audit 10% of members to ensure that activity uploaded is accurate and complete. Members included in this membership years audit will be contacted at the start of July.

All members with less than 30 points on the 1st of September 2023 will be contacted and risk their AVS lapsing. Please take some time to update your locker before the end of the membership year.

Please ensure your contact details are up to date as the CPD team will use the e-mail address provided in your locker to contact you.

The last few years have been a challenging time for SVT members however if you are struggling for CPD points there are numerous ways to earn CPD points through the SVT each year:

  • Complete the CPD Online Questions available on the SVT website. These become available quarterly and are worth 2 points each - 8 points per annum.
  • Attend the SVT Annual Scientific Meeting in November each year. This year's conference is taking place in Dublin from the 22nd-24th of November.
  • Study Days: The SVT has recently started a study day programme with events throughout the year. The recent Upper Limb study day is now available online and is worth 5points.
  • Webinars: There is an ongoing programme of Research webinars which are worth 1 point each
  • The SVT Fundamentals Course – available online. Members who want a refresher can claim 5 points once every 5years.
  • Write an article, case study or review of a journal article for the SVT Newsletter – 2 CPD points

The CPD options on the website have been updated and should hopefully be clearer. We welcome any feedback or comments on how we can make this easier.
