SVT degree apprenticeship and National Healthcare Science Apprenticeship Workshop

25th May 2022

Dear Members,

We are pleased to be able to confirm that the Vascular Science Degree has now been approved in principle with Gloucestershire University. With full support of the NSHCS we will be aiming for AHCS accreditation to ensure graduates get automatic registration with the AHCS practitioner register.

The SVT are now working with the University to produce the curriculum content for the degree which realises the discussions held in previous SVT Heads of Service meetings. This new Vascular Practitioner training will standardise the learning and training expected at this level, this is particularly important now that some centres have already developed this role locally to help resolve workforce issues. This new qualification will also help increase the workforce nationally.

The course will be run as a distance learning apprenticeship with the aim of opening for our first intake in Sept 2023. Please log in to the webinar below to learn more about apprenticeships and how you could use the levy to train your own apprentices (from level 2 – 7)

Watch out for further updates on the Vascular Science degree in the Newsletter and on the website.
